May 14 - Kansas into Missouri

As we drove across Kansas on our way to Kansas City, MO, the landscape became greener and greener, but also colder.

Still off the Interstate, we came through a little town that had sheaths of wheat on their light posts. Perfect for Kansas.

No BLM land in the Midwest so we looked up Harvest Hosts. Tonight our place of rest for the night was a Harvest Host, Green Acres at the Red Brick FarmHouse BnB. Great stop after a long day of driving.

Saturday we are going to try to make it to Terre Haute, IN.

Night, all.

  1. I couldn't figure out where this place is, so I googled it and saw that it's in Missouri. We were in Kansas one time in 1985. Our daughter Miki lived in Wellington, KS for a year. Just a small town.

  2. This was another Harvest Host but they had hook ups. No one else around.

    1. Miki was born in Lancaster County, became our daughter at age 14, served a few months in Kansas right after high school with a church plant, stayed there for a year, came back home and went to Stevens Tech and graduated, worked a few years, then went to Sweden for a one-year church mission, met her husband there, and the rest is history, lol!
