We thought we’d stay in another Harvest Host site in Tehachapi, just east of Bakersfield, for the night. But we got a weather warning about a snow storm coming and we had to go over a mountain to get into Bakersfield. So packed up and drove over the pass. Couldn’t find any campgrounds that had space so we stayed in a Walmart parking lot, one of our last choices for sure.
Saw some Joshua Trees as we were driving, such unique looking trees. Fun fact is that they aren’t a tree, they are a plant, part of the yucca family.
As we were getting closer and closer to California, my cold kept getting worse unfortunately. It’s not fun to be sick any time but when you want to visit people, it’s really not fun.
Guess we’ll have to adapt.
Ugh, a bad cold and a Walmart parking lot campsite. That's like a double whammy. Glad you stayed away from the snow.
