On the way to Cape Henlopen

Since some states have opened state parks, we decided to go camping with Bonnie and Carl Pillar to Cape Henlopen State Park.

We’ve heard about Harvest Hosts and have wanted to try staying at one of the wineries, distilleries, and/or farms. We joined and found a delightful farm in Lancaster County called Barefoot Acres. Nestled in the center of the town of Intercourse is this huge orchard operation called Kauffman Fruit Farms, run by Clair and Anna Kauffman. We couldn’t have found a more welcoming and peaceful place for our first stay at a Harvest Host place. Take a look, goats, kids, chickens, Pottery made by Kiersten (one of their four children) and beautiful landscape:

We brought our bikes and a trailer for Lenny and Banjo, so off we went around the countryside.

If you have a self contained camper, and enjoy meeting new people, you should try Harvest Hosts.

Now on our way to Cape Henlopen. Looks like great weather.
