Arlo is taking a ballet class this fall. He seems to really like it. His teacher, Miss Lauren is really good with the kids. Arlo fit right in and participated.
After dance class, Arlo was helping pappy try to fix the air conditioner in Carl and Shan’s van. Hilarious listening to them converse back and forth.
Arlo walked with us on Lenny’s walk. Arlo took his fishing pole so he could “fish.”
Gigi, Arlo’s daycare person, asked me to help her make a rug for her closet. The material was so soft.
When I got home, Lenny was sleeping, tongue out and head on the pillow.
Time for Donna’s party. Good friend of Shan and Carl (and now ours), Donna has a birthday. We were able to celebrate it with her.
Donna and Arlo were playing stacking robots. They did it!
As we played SkyJo (birthday girl won!), we watched the sky unfold this beautiful sunset.
Shuff and I drove down to Sacramento to finish a project for Erin and do a few errands.
Erin’s fig tree was growing so fast that it needed to be staked. Everything grows so fast with the sun and warm temps.
Erin also has a pair of slacks that need to be hemmed so I measured that for her.
After Drew finished at the University, he met us at The Garden for a beer and catch up a bit.
After dinner we drove back to Nevada City. Sorry, no pics for this post.
Lenny still seems to enjoy our walks. He made it almost 2 miles today.
Arlo had his first day of the new school. It’s close to where he lives so Carl took him on the bike. Arlo was excited to get going.
It must have been a hard day. Shan had told Arlo that we would go for ice cream after his first day. However, he was too tired. When Shan picked Arlo up from school on the bike, he was asleep on the back of the bike before they got home.
And this is all the farther he made it in the bed … still with his helmet on.
He finally woke up 2-1/2 hours later. and had a popsicle outside.
Wonder what tomorrow will be like!
Shan and Carl met some friends at Three Forks for a drink so we got to spend some time with Arlo.
He gets to watch Paw Patrol while sitting on the potty!
Shuff, Lenny and I went on our usual morning wake up walk.
Arlo went to Gigi’s for his last day there.
For dinner we went to a potluck at Arlo’s new school, Miss Tiana. The families were there so everyone could at least meet and greet. The kids immediately started to play with each other. I think Arlo will do great here. Here’s the group:
Do I know names of everyone? NO. But I’m sure Arlo will eventually.

We are continuing our morning walks with Lenny. We go about 1.5 miles.
Then I had Aquasize at Memorial Pool.
When I came home, there was a praying mantis outside our RV.
Arlo and I played with bubbles again.
Carl and Shuff began to install fog lights on Carl’s truck with Arlo’s help.
While Arlo and I played outside, we saw another praying mantis. This one was brown and crawled up the screen door.
Evenings are cooling down nicely.
Arlo went with us on our Lenny walk in the morning.
We saw another slug
Another Lenny walk with Arlo to the donkeys. Since Lenny is feeling more like his old self, we are getting our 10,000+ steps a day
On our way to feed the donkeys, we saw the neighborhood cat, Tiger. He rolled on his back so Arlo petted him.
Look what we found in the Alsup’s yard … an iridescent lizard. The picture doesn’t do it justice. The shining blue green color was beautiful.
Bubble time
He and I made a mixture of water, dawn and corn starch. The corn starch makes the bubbles last longer … and it does.
Unfortunately, the crystal experiment we tried with the pinecones didn’t work. I think we needed larger jars.
This morning was our last morning with Arlo without his parents. We again went on a walk. Lenny times when the big dogs go along. He’s part of the pack.
However it looks like I didn’t get him in the picture. He hangs back with me because I have the treat bag.
To kill a little more time and to use up a little of Arlo’s energy, he and I went to Pioneer Park playground.
He managed to get me on the slide. Here we are at the top ready to go down!
These flowers make music
Shan and Carl had an amazing time away. A cruise around Lake Tahoe, dinner and drinks and time to talk. Plus they found the relics on a hike. Must have been a cabin here at one time. Notice the brand … Griswald from Erie PA
But now it was time for Paw Patrol movie. Arlo waited so patiently for this day to arrive. Pappy promised he would buy the popcorn and he did!
Dinner at Fred’s a Chinese restaurant in Nevada City and a walk around the Victorian town. Love their buildings that date back to the gold rush days of 1840s.
When Arlo woke up and came downstairs, he checked the jars to see if any crystals formed … look, success. Crystals formed on the pipe cleaners we made into shapes
Then off to Gigi to play with friends.
Our Lenny walk also included Bandit and Jax today. Again we walked up Trevor and Diana’s driveway but this time we walked the ditch and made a loop back to Shan and Carl’s house, about 2.5 miles which was a long way for Lenny but he did well.
Arlo is pretty easy to calm down at night. He starts to fade about 7:30. Tonight I only had to read 2 books.

Shan and Carl left for their 2-day getaway to South Lake Tahoe. For Christmas we gave them a cruise on Emerald Bay on Lake Tahoe.
For Lenny’s walk today we walked up Trevor and Diana’s long lane, through the woods up to the ditch that runs behind Shan’s house.
I finished another crochet shrug while Arlo went to Gigi’s.
Then it was craft time. We started the process to make crystals using hot water and borax. We’ll see if the experiment works tomorrow
After dinner we watched an episode of Paw Patrol and then read books till bedtime.
Look at the little angel. Went right to bed.
