August 6 - Bluesapalooza
Nestled among the pines, the Woods at Mammoth Lakes is home to the Mammoth Festival of Beers and Bluesapalooza!
They built two stages from the ground up, lots the best breweries, ciders and seltzers, great music, and the best was the fun with the family.
Did I mention how dusty it was? Oh my!!
Back to Shan and Carl’s for dinner. Lenny and Carl slept.
August 5 - Move to Shady Test Campground
Before we leave beautiful East Fork campground, we took a hike along the Rock Creek Trail. This one was not muddy at all. Wildflowers we’re busting out all over. Remember, it’s August and flowers are just blooming.

Rock Creek was roaring with all the snow melt.

A good day at the beach for sure.

By moon, we were at our new campsite at New Shady Rest Campground. We have a nice spot except it wasn’t very level so Bill had to put the front tires up on blocks.
As soon as we were settled, I took off for June Lake to meet the troops.
Water was gloriously warm.
A good day at the beach for sure.
Now dinner at Shan and Carl’s.

August 4 - East Fork
Took a dry to Tom’s Place, a country store just off of Route 395 where we turn for our campground. All the local go here. It’s one stop shopping with a cafe, bar, and store.

Took a hike along Rock Creek. It was very wet and muddy. No

Drew and Erin arrived today so we drove back to Mammoth to see them and have dinner with the whole crew. Terry, Charlotte, Lark, and Balen leave Saturday so this will be the last time to see them for awhile.

The night skies here are beautiful, thousands of stars and the Milky Way. Wow. This is our favorite type of camping.

Back at our campsite, we had a fire with mountains in the background.

August 3 - Move to East Fork Campground
It’s time to move to our next campsite, East Fork in the Inyo National Forest. It’s about 30 minutes south of Mammoth but up in the mountains. Temps are in the 70s in the day and get down to 40s at night. Good sleeping weather.

We have a great, private site with room for the boys to roam off leash.

August 2 - Terry and Charlotte and Crew arrive
Shan and Carl decided to hike the McCleod lake trail but go further to the summit. Bill and I and Lenny and Banjo made it part way up and then decided to sit by the lake for lunch.

Lark ventured into the lake … a little chilly but refreshing, or so she said !!

Ruby went fishing.

Balen and Bandit liked the snow.

Carl helped Shan and Arlo up the Sandy hill.

This is where we turned around. But everyone else continued to the summit … even Arlo, although he really didn’t have a choice. They made it to the sun

Bill and I having a little lunch and break around a beautiful lake.

Later that night we went to Shan and Carl’s for dinner with everyone.
