July 2 - Mule deer and more swimming.

​Shannon made bubble waffles (what Arlo calls them) so went over for some breakfast. As were we’re eating we saw a buck right outside their windows. 

AND Arlo’s first selfie on my phone.

July 1 Canada Day - Leaving for Kamloops, BC

Good thing we are up early, Arlo came to visit. 

He loves to “drive Belle”. 

Arlo and I took a walk to look for “X’s” (excavators). Found a few. 

And a crane. 

Back at the RV for breakfast and pack up. 

On to our next campsite in Kamloops, British Columbia. Nothing special about the campground BUT we were only 1km from Sage Winery. Had a lovely time talking to the owner. Very small tasting room but we liked almost all of the wines we tasted. Bought 4 bottles!

Next was a visit to a brewery to watch a curling match

June 30 - Spending time with Arlo

While Shan and Carl took some time to go rock climbing, Shuff, Arlo and I went on a stroller ride to town. 

Had to stop in a park to see some old equipment. 


The town of Squamish has several mural depicting their culture. 


Mountain View’s wherever we went. 


Shan and Carl met us at Alice and BROHM Real Fruit ice cream. Great for a warm day. 

Back at the campground, Carl cooked us his special sauce for spaghetti. 


We all loved it but this one shows how much.

Tomorrow we leave for Kamloops, BC and the Alsups leave for Vancouver. 

June 11 - Arlo time

Today is our last full day in Carl and Shan front yard. 

Arlo visited us in the RV for breakfast. 

Then Shuff drove Andrea to Garden Valley to visit a friend from high school.

Arlo and I walked around Grass Valley while Shan got her toenails painted. Carl had to work. First thing we got to see was an “X” excavator. Made Arlo’s day. 

Back at the house Arlo decided he needed to do a “woods pee”. The beginnings of potty training. 

Sliding down the slide without a diaper was hard.

Thank heavens the paints are washable!!

We decided to take Andrea downtown Nevada City to show her the town. Got a drink at Nevada City Winery then dinner at Three Forks. 

June 10 - Carl’s Birthday, Andrea arrives

While Shuff drove to Sacramento to pick up Andrea from the airport, I took Arlo to GiGi’s and Carl and Shannon had a date day near Truckee. 

Then it was time to celebrate Carl’s birthday at Maria Mexican Restaurant. Delicious food and fun catching up with everyone. 

June 9 - More Lake Time

Probably the last time for us to be at the lake. It was warm and perfect for kayaking. 

The water is so clear, you can see the stones. 

Dinner with Arlo is always a treat. He is a good eater. 

June 6 - Scott’s Flat Lake and Summer Nights Festival

Friday we were back at the lake. Again, another perfect day for kayaking and playing in the water. It’s so beautiful here with the emerald colored water and the trees all around. So glad Shan bought a pass so they can go whenever it suits them. 

This is the first Friday for Summer Nights in downtown Nevada City. Beautiful evening to be out and about and to have ice cream! 

Nevada City has their Pride flags up and blowing.

June 5 - Around the house and Nevada City Winery

Shuff was able to get the weed eating finished around the property. 

Before we picked up Arlo from GiGi’s, Shan took us to the Nevada City Winery for a tasting.

In case you’re wondering, the weather has been sunny and warm for at least a month. Shuff says it’s boring but I love it. Although, it is getting dry and they are worried about fires.
