Headed north towards Astoria. Field of flowers was a bright spot along the way.
The next 3 days we will be camped at Fort Stephens State Park, near Astoria, OR
Our first day here we decided to take a 3-mile hike through the forest at Fort Stephens. Interesting moss on the trees everywhere.
Drove into Astoria to look around. Astoria is a coastal town on the Oregon, Washington border. Beautiful architecture and gorgeous Victorian homes.
A captain’s house that’s now a museum.
No stop is finished until we find a brewery and some cider. The Astoria Brewery looked out on the Columbia River and had some good beers, cider and clam chowder. Oh and there was a quilt shop I had to visit.
While we were walking on the boardwalk, I heard sea Lion barking. Jillian found these guys under the boardwalk.
Caught this one playing in the water.
Cannon Beach was one of the stops Jillian wanted to see. So we made sure to visit it twice. Cute shops and a good brewery Drew and Erin recommended- Pacific Coast Brewery, a s’mores beer and a root beer float. Yep, we visited here twice.
A walk on Cannon Beach was foggy. Haven’t seen much sun for awhile.
Our last day we decided to walk the beach at Fort Stephens in search of shells and sand dollars. Success. Found 4 sand dollars.
On to Washington and the Olympic National Forest for the night.
Cannon Beach! That's where we went with Jeremy and Mike and his mom the first time we visited them in June 2017. I remember the cute shops in downtown Cannon Beach. We got some big ice cream cones.
