Moving on to Washington and the Olympic Peninsula

September 15-17

Our trip along Route 101 is continuing into Washington.

Our campground for the next 2 nights is the Hard Rain Cafe and Campground just out side of the Olympic National Park in the Hoh Rainforest.

We took a walk along the Hoh River when we first got to the campground. Moss hanging from the trees made it spooky like Halloween.

A sunset on the Hoh River.

A nice sunset along the Hoh River was a nice end to our day.

On Friday we visited the National Park at the Hoh Rainforest Visitor Center and hiked the Moss and Spruce trails. The spruce trees are TALL.

For the afternoon we decided to drive along the Strait of Juan De Luca to Cape Flattery. From here we can see British Columbia, Canada.

Jillian has been collecting sand from the beaches we’ve visited. Todays beach was more stones than sand but she found some pretty colored stones.

This area is home to the Makkah Indian Tribe and is a fishing community.

On the way back to the RV, we stopped at a taproom in Forks. Good ciders and great atmosphere.

On to Port Angeles tomorrow.
