June 28 - Biking in Whistler

Today’s adventure took us to Whistler. Beautiful drive with rugged mountain vistas of sheer rock.

Whistler was the site of the Olympics in 2012 (I think). Whistler village had lots of shopping and restaurants.

Shannon and Carl’s friends, Matt and Christine and their 3 kids met us in Whistler Village. They were our bike route tour guides for the day.

Arlo promptly fell asleep.

We made a few stops along the way to let the kids play. One was Green Lake.

They are serious, whatever they were watching.

Quincy took this picture.

Next stop was at Rainbow Lake for some beach fun.

Wildflowers were blooming.

Last stop was for the adults at Coast Mountain Brewery.

Look who is camping with us—Carl, Shan and Arlo. Their campground reservations were canceled because of the fire so I asked our campground if they could park in front of us. They were so accommodating.

Another great day.

June 7 - Visit with Drew and Erin and Winery

Our California trip is coming to a close. This is the last time we will see Drew and Erin.

Shuff had to finish the barn door closet project he started earlier. Erin loves it and is a nice update to the Bo-fold doors.

Lenny cooled off in Winnie’s pool.

Erin’s garden is growing and already producing veggies.

Eggplant flowers.

Their apricot tree looks like they will have a good crop this year

Erin has wanted a yellow door for a long time e. Guess what … she got it. Looks so bright and springy.

Off to the Skinner Winery to celebrate Drew’s birthday.

Lorena, Boye, fina and Santi joined us as well as Meg and Rowan. We had a great celebration for Drew’s 16th, er 37th birthday.

If that wasn’t enough celebration, we continued on to Moonraker for a little more. Long but special day with special people.

April 7 - Get the Raincoat out

Since it was raining, we stayed around the RV until we went to Shan and Carl’s for dinner. Their friends, Charlotte, Terry, Balen and Lark drove up from Palo Alto. It was nice to spend time catching up with them.

Balen loves trying to pick up Banjo but Banjo usually growls and tries to gum him. That doesn’t stop Balen from trying.

Lark played with Arlo.

March 1 -2 - Countermine’s Campground

Last night’s stay at Loves Truckstop Campground wasn’t as noisy as we anticipated. It’s newly constructed with 8 camping spots with full hookup. We would stay here again since Draper Mercantile isn’t an option anymore.

On the road early. As we were close to Bristol Tennessee, an eagle flew very close to our RV. Thank heaven it changed direction quickly so we didn’t hit it!

Arrived at Terry and Sandy Countermine’s place around noon and parked in their driveway.

It’s been great catching up. Lunch was at Main Street Cafe. Delicious food and fun staff. Then Terry and Sandy took us to their newly renovated Theater for a tour. Beautiful venue for movies and music.

This is our view from the RV.

Visited Terry and Sandy’s church to hear Terry’s Praise band and listen to Pastor Mike’s message about listening to hear God.

Sandy is a quilter as well as a knitter so we had a lot to catch up our projects. I love the Tree of Live one she did.

A hike at Persimmon Ridge was relaxing. Lenny and Banjo had good smells with Abby and Sadie.

A couple games of Left Right Center where Sandy won 3, Peg 2 and Terry and Bill won ZIP. Lots of laughter.

Tomorrow we leave to drive farther south to Oat Mountain State Park. We stayed here on our way to Gulf Shores and enjoyed hiking there. Temps are supposed to be in the 60s.

June 5 - 100+degree temps! River cats Baseball

While we were in Sacramento with Drew and Erin, Shan on sent this video of Arlo. He’s very proud of himself.

Yes, is over 100 degrees, but it’s dry heat, right!!??  It doesn’t matter, it’s HOT.

Drew and Erin invited us to a Rivercats game. We thought it would be too hot but decided to go have a beer and nachos and then leave, since Drew was still celebrating his birthday!  Notice his birthday crown

They sat on the grass under some big trees and there was a breeze. It was really quite comfortable. So, we stayed for the whole game. Met Drew’s grad student Samantha. A fun night.
