June 7 - Visit with Drew and Erin and Winery

Our California trip is coming to a close. This is the last time we will see Drew and Erin.

Shuff had to finish the barn door closet project he started earlier. Erin loves it and is a nice update to the Bo-fold doors.

Lenny cooled off in Winnie’s pool.

Erin’s garden is growing and already producing veggies.

Eggplant flowers.

Their apricot tree looks like they will have a good crop this year

Erin has wanted a yellow door for a long time e. Guess what … she got it. Looks so bright and springy.

Off to the Skinner Winery to celebrate Drew’s birthday.

Lorena, Boye, fina and Santi joined us as well as Meg and Rowan. We had a great celebration for Drew’s 16th, er 37th birthday.

If that wasn’t enough celebration, we continued on to Moonraker for a little more. Long but special day with special people.

May 16 - Sacramento

Before we drive to Sacramento, Shuff and I have our coffee on the downstairs patio.

Shan, Arlo, Shuff and I drove to Sac to help Drew and Erin move furniture back in after their floor renovation.

Arlo helps Pap put the table together.

Drew needed help with the smoker so Arlo offered his help

Lunch was at Journey to the Dumpling. Absolutely delicious, every dish (and we ordered a lot!).

They even offered a meal for Lenny. He was in heaven!

April 27 - Back down to Sacramento

Drew and Erin are having their floors refinished so we moved to Cal Expo for a week to help them move furniture out to the garage.

But before we left, Arlo made oatmeal for us.

Once at Sac, to fortify us before the work gets started, we went to At Ease Brewery for a tasting and cheese pairing. We’ve had wine and cheese pairings, but never a beer and cheese pairing. The brewer talked about the beers and one of the owners explained why he chose the cheeses.

For dinner, Drew and Erin made shrimp tacos and grilled vegetables.

April 11 - Taxes, Sewing and Projects for Bill

Started our day off by attempting to finish our taxes. Had to go to Staples to print some pages, then across town to mail back an Amazon package.

Finally made it to Erin’s place so Shuff could work on the faucet project. He hardly fits!

But it’s done and looks really updated and nice, plus, it works.

He also cut apart wine barrel into two parts so Erin could use them as planters.

While he was working on that project, I used Erin’s sewing machine to continue working on Arlo’s truck/tractor quilt. Had a lot of it done before we left but still have some work to do. This is just one part of it.

After all that, Erin took us to The Garden @ The Line. This is a unique business with a ghost kitchen. Different vendors work there and you can choose from lots of options. Hard to make your mind up. Beer and cider are good, too.

Back at the RV, we took a walk on the American River Trail. Sunset was beautiful.

April 10 - Moving on to Sacramento

Our furnace stopped working a couple days ago, so on the way to Drew and Erin’s we stopped in Auburn to get that fixed at the Auburn TV Service Center.

While Belle was getting “fixed,” we spent the time at the the ARD park  got in a good walk and watched 3 year olds “play” soccer.

On the road to Sacramento again. Set up and took a breather!  Erin came over after her Pure Barre class for a fire and s’mores.

Lived our alone time with Erin while Drew is in Amsterdam for work.

June 5 - 100+degree temps! River cats Baseball

While we were in Sacramento with Drew and Erin, Shan on sent this video of Arlo. He’s very proud of himself.

Yes, is over 100 degrees, but it’s dry heat, right!!??  It doesn’t matter, it’s HOT.

Drew and Erin invited us to a Rivercats game. We thought it would be too hot but decided to go have a beer and nachos and then leave, since Drew was still celebrating his birthday!  Notice his birthday crown

They sat on the grass under some big trees and there was a breeze. It was really quite comfortable. So, we stayed for the whole game. Met Drew’s grad student Samantha. A fun night.

June 3 - Back in Sacramento

We left Chacewater Winery and Oil Mill in Philo and mosied down the road to Sacramento.

A few of the sites we saw along the way. We think this is a rice paddy. Need to ask Drew to make sure.

This is broken blue glass bottles that is in a median strip on the freeway.

Once we got back to Cal Expo, we did some of the mundane things of life, laundry and a little cleaning.

Then Erin picked us up and we went to the best Chinese restaurant, Journey to the Dumpling. Erin ordered 8 dishes for us all. They were all so tasty.

What a nice way to start Drew’s birthday celebration.

May 5 - Just around Sacramento

This morning we had about a 3 mile walk on the trails outside our campground. Lenny and Banjo could be off leash and sniff their hearts content. We even had some turkeys near us making sure we didn’t invade their space.

Since it was such a nice day, we sat outside and read and crocheted for awhile. Took a picture for Centre Gives for the ACRES Project.

Then we walked around IKEA for awhile just looking at all their displays.

After all that hard work, we went to Urban Roots Taphouse for beer and food. Since it’s Cinco de Mayo, I had delicious fish tacos.

Back to the RV to see this sunset.

Tomorrow we head back to Nevada City and Arlo!!

May 4 - Shan’s Race and Erin’s Pure Barre Class

We have had such great weather for the last couple weeks. Then when it’s time for Shan’s marathon race, it pours the whole time. But, she pulled up her big girl panties and ran through the rain to the finish. I was so proud of her. Quite frankly, I would have bagged it.

Folsom Lake was very full.

Carl and Arlo were there the whole time supporting her. Look at Arlo’s face, priceless.

And here she comes down the stretch.

And across the finish line

Arlo was so happy to see her.

Here’s the crew.

Then it was time for me to pick up Erin to go to the River Cat’s Stadium for a pop up Pure Barre class.

Yes it was COLD!!
