May 19 - Zumba and Pickleballl

Mornings are so nice to sit outside with our coffee.

Then it was time for Zumba aquacize. Loved it. Memorial Park pool in Grass Valley is beautiful and perfect for lap swims and aquacize.

Arlo time was next.

For dinner we tried something new, South American cuisine at Diego’s and kombucha. Delicious.

This was the size of my dinner of Panqueque.

After we got back to Ida, we took a walk around the campground and came upon a rattler.

Decided to leave it alone and turn in for the night.

May 18 - Visit Drew and Erin

We made a trip down the hill to Sacramento to visit Drew and Erin before Erin leave s to visit her family in NC and Drew leaves for a conference in Toronto.

Bill finished the porch project installing angle iron for more stability and a gutter. They usually don’t get much rain but they will be ready when it comes.

This was taken from inside the car with the angle iron tied on top. I’m sure we looked funny as we drove through Sacramento to their house.

After that project was finished, Drew took us to Sac Yard for a beer, cider and nachos.

As we were driving to the campground, the sun was setting.

This was taken sitting outside Ida.

May 17 - hiking at the lake and Ida gets a checkup

After we dropped Ida off to get her oil changed and some other checkups, we met Shan, Arlo and the dogs at Scott’s Flat Lake, about 5 miles from Shan’s house.

It’s a beautiful emerald green lake that you can swim, kayak, relax and hike. It’s really a perfect spot for us all. Bandit can swim for sticks and we can get a nice hike in and Arlo can sleep the whole time. He loves to be moving.

While we picked up Ida from her checkup, Arlo relaxed on the cushions in the pavilion.

May 16 - Arlo and Shan visit Ida (the RV)

Arlo and Shan came over to the RV for awhile to chill out. Hopefully there will be lots more camping times for us all.

When Arlo got home, he had to take a snooze.

Some of you may not have heard the story how Ida (the RV) got her name. In 2018 we were driving back from visiting the Cali  kids through Idaho. Bill spotted some smaller motorhomes. We had been looking for smaller motorhomes but back east everything seem to be larger than 36 feet. So when we saw a couple small motorhomes, we decided to just take a look. We weren’t going to buy, just looking. Ha ha. We drove out of the Bretz RV sales in our new motorhome after trading in the truck and the pull behind camper. Away we went. Several hundred miles down the road we looked at each other and said “what did we just do??!!” We weren’t even sure we could stand to be in that small of a place (30’) for very long. But here we are 5 years later and 7 cross country trips and still talking and laughing.

May 15 - R & R

Since Mother’s Day had so much going on, Monday was an day of rest.

We took some walks around the campground and did some errands but for the most part, we read and crocheted.

Arlo is talking to daddy.

May 14 - Happy Mother’s Day

Brunch at the Holbrook in Grass Valley was the beginning of celebrating Mother’s Day. Boy do they know how to do brunch - buffet and bottomless mimosas.

Arlo was a perfect Angel through the whole brunch. He didn’t even wake up to give mommy her card he made.

Then it was lake time. We joined Charlotte, Terry, Balen, Lark and Shannon and Arlo and 6 dogs!  Fun time watching the dogs and kids play. The lake is a beautiful emerald green. Weather was perfect.

May 13 - Hiking and Arlo

Woke up to warm weather so we got on the hiking trail early. Today we went to Hirshman’s Pond trail. This was an old hydronic gold mine that had collapsed, thus creating the pond.

Then came Arlo time.

Banjo overlooking everything.

Finished a few projects - the pavilion is ready for people and the lawn is ready for new grass to grow.

Shan’s snowball bush is ready to bloom.

Then it was time for us to stop at Grass Valley Brewery for another taste of the black current cider.
