April 29 - Nathan Wrestles and more of Arlo

After taking Bill to the airport, I was greeted with this sunrise.

Bill made it to Vegas and the wrestling has started. Nathan didn’t know that Bill was going so he was very surprised, which is exactly what we were hoping.

Drew and I took a walk around his neighborhood. The flowers are blooming profusely.

Then Lenny, Banjo and I headed up the hill to spend the day with Shannon and Arlo.

We went to Scott’s Flat Lake. This area used to have a beach but since they’ve had so much rain, the lake has risen. Bandit didn’t care. He could still swim after a stick. That’s all he wanted to do.

On the way to the RV, the sun was setting on another day.

April 28 - Back down the hill to Sacramento and Arlo’s first bath

Since Bill is flying out to Vegas early Saturday to watch Nathan at the US Open, we decided to stay overnight at Drew and Erin’s.

It just happened to be the 6th Sacramento Kings game so Drew is ready.

Kings win and the beam was lit!

After dinner Erin and I made s’mores while the boys drank beer.

Can’t end the day without a pic of Arlo. He had his first bath. Look at the scowl.

April 27 - Nevada City Time

After a walk around the campground, it was time to get the garden ready.

And here is Arlo. Pappy Shuff is in charge

April 26 - Hike Buttermilk Bend State Park

Shan and Arlo came to the RV to pick us up for our hike to Buttermilk Bend Trail to see the wildflowers.

Even though the wildflowers were at their peak a week ago, we still saw many different kinds and colors.

That’s the Yuba in the background, roaring fast and furious.

After the hike we headed over to Carl and Shan’s for some Arlo time.

And then our little Kings fan.

April 25 - Time at the Alsup’s

Spent some of the day holding, singing and reading to Arlo.

Then off to Peaceful Valley for Shan and Carl to buy garden plants and Arlo’s first ride in a garden cart.

Back to the RV for some outside crocheting and reading.

April 24 - Snowshoeing in Truckee

Today our 10,000+ steps was snowshoeing at Cold Stream Canyon trail. Again, beautiful weather for a hike. Can you believe that the trail we were on had 6 feet of snow on top of the road. Hard to believe there is still that much left.

Banjo had a mishap and fell into a runoff stream. Bill had to rescue him and I made a makeshift carry wrap for him because he was shivering.

Cold Stream Lake was beautiful, partially snow and ice covered.

After a 3-1/2 hr hike, we made it back to the car. All 4 of us were starved so we headed to 50/50 Brewery. Luckily I had brought food for the boys so all were happy.

Of course, I need to post my daily pic of Arlo and Shan. Notice Arlo is awake but Shan is catching a few winks.

April 23 - Kings game and Arlo meets Drew and Erin

Aunt Erin finally got to snuggle with Arlo. He’s still in wonder at this family of his.

Then Arlo got some Uncle Drew time.

And Pappy Shuff even got some snuggle time in. He’s waiting until Arlo can play in the dirt though.
