July 3 - Banff

Driving the Trans Canadian Highway, there were so many great mountain views.

This is a wildlife corridor. What a great idea. They love their wildlife.

Good advice.

Although we didn’t make reservations early nor plan our trip to Banff, we scored a great campground at Mount Kidd. Staff were so helpful. Would stay here again.

After setting up camp, we took off on our bikes. The scenery was gorgeous.

The only wildlife we saw were 3 large bucks and a Prarie dog. Even though the sign said there were bear sittings on the trail we were riding.

Campfire with s’mores topped off our night.

April 14 - A walk with the boys, more sewing and pizza making at the RV

We hiked the American trail early this morning. It was already starting to heat up. Saw a gobbler trying to call a mate. Hope he got lucky.

Then while I went over to Erin’s to finish sewing, Shuff got the oil changed in the truck and then stayed at the RV to check to make sure the solar would work when we aren’t connected to electricity.

For dinner, Erin came over to the RV for pizza, salad, wine and s’mores. Made 3 different kinds, veggie, margarita and meat lovers. All 3 were very tasty. Opened a bottle of Chacewater wine to celebrate Erin’s new job at UC Davis hospital. Topped it off with s’mores.

April 10 - Moving on to Sacramento

Our furnace stopped working a couple days ago, so on the way to Drew and Erin’s we stopped in Auburn to get that fixed at the Auburn TV Service Center.

While Belle was getting “fixed,” we spent the time at the the ARD park  got in a good walk and watched 3 year olds “play” soccer.

On the road to Sacramento again. Set up and took a breather!  Erin came over after her Pure Barre class for a fire and s’mores.

Lived our alone time with Erin while Drew is in Amsterdam for work.

April 6 - Hike and Cookoit

After Pappy and I got our sleep and then coffee , we helped Shan with a couple things around d the house. Then took a hike at Hirschman’s Trail. A nice 3 mile walk through the pines. Even Banjo hiked for a stretch.

Over at Arlo’s now. He got a tent for his birthday from his Aunt Angela and Uncle Richard. Of course he wanted me to join him.

Lenny likes Arlo’s water table. Crawled right in while Arlo watched.

Then a cookout and s’mores. Great ending to our day.

September 19 - Medina, OH

First day on the road was a little rocky. We couldn’t find the Boondockers Welcome place we thought we were going to stay. BUT serendipitously we found a wonderful spot. We turned into this farm where we thought was the correct place. The owner came out and told us we weren’t where we were supposed to be but she would be happy to host us for the night. Theresa runs a horse farm in Medina, Ohio , plus she sells flowers to a florist. What a great find.

After setting up, we drove to the Cuyahoga National Park. This park is a short distance away from urban areas but you feel loke world away. There are lots of biking and hiking trails along the Cuyahoga River and the Ohio Erie Canal with lots of native plants.

When we found our way back to where we parked the RV, our host invited us to sit around her spacious campfire and watch the moonrise. Beautiful evening.

Theresa’s dahlias are blooming and smiling.

Next stop on our Michigan exploration is near Battle Creek.
