April 12 - Hiking, Biking, Sewing, and Farmers Market

After our morning hike along the American River Trail, we drove over to Erin’s.

Busy day with Farmers Market first, which we were able to bike there.

Bike lanes the whole way there. Banjo liked the pavement because it wasn’t as bumpy as some trails we’ve been on other places.

So much to see with several blocks of produce, craft and food vendors. We bought some pirogies from a Ukrainian vendor for dinner and some vegetables for another dinner.

Biking back home, we stopped at Nitty Gritty Cidery.

Back home, a sewing project covering their outdoor pillows for Erin and me.

A full fun day.

April 11 - Taxes, Sewing and Projects for Bill

Started our day off by attempting to finish our taxes. Had to go to Staples to print some pages, then across town to mail back an Amazon package.

Finally made it to Erin’s place so Shuff could work on the faucet project. He hardly fits!

But it’s done and looks really updated and nice, plus, it works.

He also cut apart wine barrel into two parts so Erin could use them as planters.

While he was working on that project, I used Erin’s sewing machine to continue working on Arlo’s truck/tractor quilt. Had a lot of it done before we left but still have some work to do. This is just one part of it.

After all that, Erin took us to The Garden @ The Line. This is a unique business with a ghost kitchen. Different vendors work there and you can choose from lots of options. Hard to make your mind up. Beer and cider are good, too.

Back at the RV, we took a walk on the American River Trail. Sunset was beautiful.

April 10 - Moving on to Sacramento

Our furnace stopped working a couple days ago, so on the way to Drew and Erin’s we stopped in Auburn to get that fixed at the Auburn TV Service Center.

While Belle was getting “fixed,” we spent the time at the the ARD park  got in a good walk and watched 3 year olds “play” soccer.

On the road to Sacramento again. Set up and took a breather!  Erin came over after her Pure Barre class for a fire and s’mores.

Lived our alone time with Erin while Drew is in Amsterdam for work.

April 9 - Bike ride, Arlo at the Campground and Shan BD Celebration

After a hike around the campground, Bill and I took the bikes for a ride on the ditch trail near Shan’s old house. It was a bit bumpy for Banjo but at least he did t fly out of the basket!!

After our ride, it was time for Arlo to visit us at the campground while Shan worked.

Arlo biked a little and then we went looking for trucks, his favorite pastime.

He’s not in love wearing his helmet yet.

Playing with his “EX” (excavator) we got him for his birthday.

We finally got to celebrate Shannon’s birthday. We went to Maria’s Mexican Restaurant. Arlo loves his Spanish rice.

It was still Happy Hour so we had to get a Margaritas to celebrate.

Then cheesecake for a perfect ending.

April 8 - Hike and Pick up Arlo

A 4 mile hike on the Empire Mine trail started our morning.

Drove by Donna’s to see her Little Library that Bill helped put it up last year. It’s looking quite nice. She had some trees taken down so now she has a lot more sun at her house.

With the rain gone and the sun shining, we sat outside for a couple hours before picking up Arlo at Gigi’s. He’s so talkative on our trip home.

Then shish-k-Bob dinner with Carl and Shannon and Arlo.

April 7 - Get the Raincoat out

Since it was raining, we stayed around the RV until we went to Shan and Carl’s for dinner. Their friends, Charlotte, Terry, Balen and Lark drove up from Palo Alto. It was nice to spend time catching up with them.

Balen loves trying to pick up Banjo but Banjo usually growls and tries to gum him. That doesn’t stop Balen from trying.

Lark played with Arlo.

April 6 - Hike and Cookoit

After Pappy and I got our sleep and then coffee , we helped Shan with a couple things around d the house. Then took a hike at Hirschman’s Trail. A nice 3 mile walk through the pines. Even Banjo hiked for a stretch.

Over at Arlo’s now. He got a tent for his birthday from his Aunt Angela and Uncle Richard. Of course he wanted me to join him.

Lenny likes Arlo’s water table. Crawled right in while Arlo watched.

Then a cookout and s’mores. Great ending to our day.
