May 20 - Bike ride

A few pics from our morning before Arlo went to GiGi’s. 

I had my Aquasize class and then a bike ride.No pics but a good 14-mile bike ride into Nevada City and down Old Downietown Pike. 

Carl and Shan and the dogs went on a run up to Boan Lake. So we all got exercise!!

Back home to pick up Arlo from GiGi’s and then Carl made us a delicious Asian meal. 

May 19 - Recovery day

After breakfast, Arlo, Pap and me played some  

Another beautiful day so away we went to the lake again. 

May 18 - Hike and Outlaw Festival

A little gardening to start the day. 

Since we were leaving the dogs for a long time while we are at the Outlaw Festival, we wanted to tire them out. A hike on the Snow Mountain Canal Trail hopefully did the trick. 

We can catch this trail from Shan and Carl’s house. We hiked about 4+ miles. 

Wildflowers are starting to pop. 

Now it’s time for the Outlaw Festival. What a great outdoor venue. Weather was great with just enough breeze so it wasn’t so hot. TV The drive to Wheatland was easy … and sunny. 

The lineup was Sierra Hull, Billy Strings, Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson. 

Arlo didn’t care who was singing. He needed a nap!

And Nana Peg needed a drink. 

It was such a fun day for all of us. 

May 17 - Hike and Chef Arlo

When I use the word hike, it’s really a sniff and slow walk sometimes. Lenny and Banjo like all the different smells on the Champion mine hike. 

Saw a California hare  look at those tall ears. 

Back to Shan and Carl’s house for dinner that Arlo made. 

Who else can stand on the counter and stir the food ?

A few rolls with Pap before bedtime. 

May 16 - Sacramento

Before we drive to Sacramento, Shuff and I have our coffee on the downstairs patio. 

Shan, Arlo, Shuff and I drove to Sac to help Drew and Erin move furniture back in after their floor renovation. 

Arlo helps Pap put the table together. 


Drew needed help with the smoker so Arlo offered his help 

Lunch was at Journey to the Dumpling. Absolutely delicious, every dish (and we ordered a lot!). 

They even offered a meal for Lenny. He was in heaven!

May 15 - More Projects and More Arlo

The morning started off with Shuff and Shan putting the guest cottage bed together. Shan got the bed off FB Marketplace (free). This meant there weren’t any instructions 😩. After searching the web for a bit, Shan found some online so away they meant. Of course, they had a good supervisor. 

A walk to see the heehaws (donkeys) 

Tamales for dinner. 

With Arlo the chef making refried beans and Spanish rice. 

As every good chef knows, you have to taste your food as you cook. 

May 14 - Hanging with Arlo and Projects

This is the week that all projects at the Pasquale house and their guest house have to be done, so it’s push push. Renters are moving into the guest house and pictures are being taken at the Pasquale so it can go on the market. Exciting but stressful week. Plus, remember that Bill and I moved into Shan and Carls new house in Carl’s man cave for two weeks. A lot on everyone’s plate. 

Arlo and I decided to make energy bars. Arlo liked to eat them as we stirred. 

Arlo and I are catching some rays. 

Pappy weed eated the yard while Carl and Arlo power washed screens. 

The day ended with eggplant Parmesan that Carl made for dinner. I know I’ll sleep tonight!
